Swami Vivekanand:Inspiration to Indian Intellactuals

           ....Sisters and brothers of America..

It fills  my heart with joy unspeakable to rise in the response to the warm and cordial welcome  which you have given us. I thank you in the name of most ancient order of the monks in the world; I thank you in the name of  the mother of religions, and I thank you in the name of millions and millions of Hindu people of all classes and sects.
My thanks, also, to some of the speakers on this platform who, referring to the delegates from the Orient, have told you that these men from far-off nations may well claim the honor of bearing to different lands the idea of toleration. I am proud to belong to a religion which has taught the world both tolerance and universal acceptance.
We believe not only in universal toleration but we accept all religions as 'True". I am proud to belong to a nation which has sheltered the persecuted and refugees of all the religions and all nations of the earth. I am proud to tell you that we have gathered in our bosom the purest remnant of the Israelite s, who came to southern India and took refuge with us in the very year in which their holy temple was shattered to pieces by Roman tyranny.
I am proud to belong to the religion which has sheltered and is still fostering the remnant of the grand Zoroastrian nation.
I will quote to you brethren,a few lines from a hymn which I remember to have repeated from my earliest boyhood, which is every day repeated by millions of human beings." As the different streams having their sources in different paths which men take through different tendencies, various though they appear, crooked or straight, all lead to Thee."

The present convention, which is one of the most august assemblies ever held,is in itself  a vindication, a declaration to the world of the wonderful doctrine preached in the Gita: " Whosoever comes to me,through whatsoever form,I reach him; all men are struggling through paths which in the end lead to me."
Sectarianism, bigotry and its horrible descendant, fanaticism, have  long possessed this beautiful earth. They have filled the earth with violence, drenched if often and often with human blood, destroyed civilization and sent whole nations to despair, had it not been for these horrible demons, human society would be far more advanced than it is now.
But their time is come; and I fervently hope that the bell that tolled this morning in the honor of this convention may be the death-knell of all fanaticism, of all  persecutions with the sword or with the pen, and of all uncharitable feelings between persons wending their way to the same goal.

                                                                                       - Swami Vivekananda.
                                                                                          from Chicago in 1893

At the end of 19th century,India had gifted her best spirituous intellect to the world in the form of Swami Vivekananda. His thoughts and narrative about the India- a holy land- having its unique and consecrated culture and his compassionate guidance to the youth of the nation, Had it been compiled, crafted and propagated properly, India would have been a great nation on this planet.
Unfortunately, we all are so unfortunate of being relied on the westernized, colonized education and thinking methodologies which are not only known for their cunningness but also being a trend setter of false narrative. The same narrative which undermines the sacred and real Indian national ethos.
In his speech, Swamiji proudly mentioning himself belonging to a nation that has having history sheltered the persecuted, refugees of all religions from the world. He actually had equated the Nation and the religion as a whole. He advocated rightly that there is a culture of this holy land of having tolerance and universal acceptance as its main characteristic, so as the Hindu religion endorses.I think it is a remarkable characteristic of 'Hindu Rashtra'- the term which is usually misinterpreted by some so called secularists in contemporary society. Swamiji never expressed a fear or reservations about the other religions as a hurdle or impediment in a way of being a Hindu.
If someone thinks that 'Nationalism is a Hinduism', then I don't think it is a wrong connotation. A true nationalist, belonging to any religion as a way of worship, have nothing to do with any religious fanaticism, because a true nationalist will have a strong belief in this holy Indian culture of having ages of history of tolerance and universal acceptance.
Westernized concept of Secularism- as complete water tight partition between religion and state- is not beneficial as well as applicable to India. But treating all religions equally, without bias and appeasement to a particular one, and the state will not have its own religion, I think this is the true essence of the word Secularism. Our esteemed constitution also, this concept of Secularism, enshrined in it.In this regard,we can find out the reference of quote in Gita, Swamiji had given in his speech.
Modern, Westernized, Left wing Liberals with their agenda of intellectual encroachment in the field of ancient Indian History, Culture and beliefs, are trying to mislead the masses. They are doing this by obnoxiously and preposterously defining the terms like Republicanism, Secularism, Freedom of speech and expression, Liberalism etc. These so called liberal's peevish arguments on Human Rights of the terrorists, who slaughtered the hundreds in the name of religion, is nothing but the persecution with the pen, of the millions of true nationalists and countrymen.
I think, Swami Vivekananda's thoughts, his guidance in way of life would be the real panacea for all these ill wills. The way, Swamiji had shown us 125 years ago, if acquired in ourselves, will truly be the Death-Knell of all fanaticism.
By being pupils of an astonishing and exuberant ideas of Swamiji on Education, Youth, Nation and Humanity, I am very much sure, new India can definitely set her own, pure narrative which may be called 'A grand Indian Narrative' i.e. India- A World Leader.
